Armada quality issues?

is it just a coincidence that these skis both broke so fast and armadas? or has armada dropped the quality of their skis? i know someone who went through 2 pairs of armadas in a season (halo and elrey) while his k2 domains lasted him a season and a bit, ive never bought an armada ski because of the price, and after what ive seen and herd idk if i ever will

Dude that guy absolutely rammed his ski into a rock, no ski would resist a hit like that. Has nothing to do with Armada's quality and everything to do with low snow levels and pointy rocks.

Armada's quality is much improved over where it was when the JP vs Julian and AR5/6 were out. Graphics, notsomuch.

Dude, what are you talking about? First off, that's 2 pair out of thousands that Armada makes. It's hardly a representation of the entire line's quality even if they had been real quality issues.

Second, what ski out there can you ski full speed over a pointy rock and not rip a base apart? What ski out there is invincible to rail damage? I'd like 2 of those if you find one please, this stuff is to be expected and falls into the "shit happens" category. If you ski more often you'll learn that.

It's hard to judge a ski strictly skied in the park for quality and durability issues just like you can't use a core shot from rocks or a snapped nose/tail from under rotation as a reflection of quality.

However you can judge delam issues, top sheet chipping, and their "AR50" sidewall construction as quality.

I loved Armada back in the day, my 2008 Pipe Cleaners were probably my favorite park ski that could rip all mountain skis of all time. But in the past few years I have not felt the same about their skis. I was never really impressed with the JJ compared to similar all mountain fat/pow skis like the Bacon, Opus, Gotama, Helldorado, Patron, Shaman, Kung Fujas, or S7 for that matter, but to each their own.

The Cap construction is not only torsionally softer but it just falls apart, which is acceptable for a pricepoint ski, but for the price Armada is charging for skis it is wiser to find an alternative brand .

If you plan to ski a ski for a year or two at the most I guess it's not too big of a deal.

Hmmm, Armada's have always been strong and made strong in Austria.  I've owned 3 pairs over the years and skied 'em hard.  In fact, all 3 are still in good condition, with a few p-tex welds, but awesome.

I had two pairs of alphas last year, both delamned at the tip only a couple weeks in to skiing them. Saw a few more cases of this happening to people with last years halos/alphas. however i believe it could of been a fluke year in manufacturing, cause my 2011-2012 t-halls were bomb proof

idk my thalls have been ripping for a year now hard and haven't had these things give out on me. and i destroy my skis normally so coming into this thinking that they will be done at the end of the season and surprised they have lasted so long
