Yup pretty much what everyone here has said. I went to Wolf Creek last January. I skied the day at Vail, and drove to Wolf Creek. I lucked out, because just as I pulled up to the hotel in South Fork, it started to dump. When I say dump, I mean I have never seen snow fall that fast before... in my entire life. It snowed well over 30 inches from 9pm, till 6 am. I woke up, and my little nissan rental car was buried in the parking lot. After the hotel plowed the driveway, I attempted to drive up wolf creek pass. Which was very sketchy. I barely made it...
As for the skiing Wolf Creek is on the smaller side compared to the Colorado super resorts. There really is only 4 lifts to use. It can be very very flat towards the end so make sure you keep your speed up, to minimize as much skating as possible.
However, like someone else has said the waterfall area is some of the best skiing I have ever done. Amazing to say the least. The snow was epic, and that's what wolf creek has going for it. The snow. If your cool with better snow quality, and a smaller mountain then Wolf Creek is for you. They also have some bad ass, easy access, ...back country. All back country gates are a short hike.
