So Signal snowboards does this ETT(every third thursday) as some of you may know and today they put up this. It was supposed to be for sandboarding, but they had better luck on snow(ofc...)
I wonder how it would feel on skis and how many doors this would open haha
Wow, I'm not very knowledgeable when it comes to ski construction, especially compared to some on this site, but this seems at the very least worth looking into.
Some things I could see as an issue is how long skis made out of this can last and it seems almost too flexy to an extent. However, if someone was to make some skis like this, it could be an amazing product.
Edge less skis have been done before, and Moment currently offers the Frankenskiw high has recessed edges underfoot. ABS has been used on topsheets and it's way more prone to chipping then UHMW ('traditional' base) or nylon (another topsheet material) is. So I'm not terribly sure how well it would hold up in the long term. I definitely like the idea of it on pow skis with no edge though. Less weight and less complication going on internally) if you hit some some hard pack with some rockered edge less fatties though, hah.
