We had duct taped a lighter to one of our season pass leashes and attached it to our bong, greatest invention ever. Couple months later they started popping up in gas stations all around us.

Inventing or producing? Usually when you invent something you just sell the patent to a company that already has the means of production and economies of scale to product such a dumpy little item as a lighter on a leash

If he wanted to produce that himself, yes he most likely would have lost a shit ton of money without some serious VC money. Inventing something like that? Only would have lost a few hundred in raw materials and patent costs

Sockets, they are socks with pockets to hold your chapstick or other small items when you have no pockets. Pretty ridiculous but i thought it was awesome.

my best invention was gunwale clips for canoers / kayakers. although no product exists on the market, some lady patented basically the exact thing i was thinking of - a clip that attaches to the gunwale of a canoe or the edge of the cockpit on a kayak that you can clip your paddle into for portaging and shit like that


also, i thought up something really similar to this, but found out it is already a thing...

basically just a lightweight flat-folding fire grate for camping. not as a replacement for lpg/naptha fuel stoves, but an alternative for cooking on fires

I was bummin' in a hole-in-a-wall town in what is now called Utah. Some fella from Colorado shows up, starts making so called "improvements", right? Before we knew what hit us, the streets are running with latte. It got so bad that a fella that liked to, you know... smoke a little grass or drink a little ripple. Crow like a rooster, maybe challenge the mayor's son to a gentlemen's duel, was "uncouth, against God." More like bad real estate values. Stumpy had to go!

I had come up with a way to monitor polymer growth spectroscopically while doing some project for a class, except then I found out people actually already did it that way so I wasn't as original as I thought.

Except now I can't remember what it was. Something to do with growing it off a gold plate, it was like a year ago... This is gonna bother me all day now.
