Bring it to park

Last season i brought a lot of new things to snow, but this season I plan on advancing a lot. However there is one problem, I dread the fact of trying the new things im learning on a genuine park jump rather than a amateur/slap shit made jump. For example, for a year i would only do backflips on kicky jumps made by me and my friends and im way to scared to bring these and front flips to park. Should i just go for it, or should i get really experienced with them out of park and then bring them to park. How did you get over this fear?

While "just send it son" is definitely good advice, here's a bit more.

If you've got your backies dialed on your little poppy booters, you should have no problem bringing them to the park if they've got some decent jumps. Make sure to find a jump you feel comfortable with before just sending it recklessly. Give it a few straight airs so you're comfortable with the pop and the airtime - chances are it'll have less pop than your handmade booters, but you might be in the air for a longer time. Both things you might have to compensate for a bit.

After that, send it son!

Did not read... Try spins? 5's and 7's probably feel great but I do not have any experience doing them.

Start on smaller park jumps and then work your way up!

Yeah this is by far the most important thing. There is no shame in really working your way up... try things like doing backies out of the halfpipe at the bottom (making sure to not hit the vert part or cut anyone off) so you're comfortable with them in a park setting. Then find a smaller jump and get totally dialed there. Work your way up and up... and you'll eventually be good.

There's also no shame in going to a camp, or signing up for some freestyle coaching. There's great winter camps available, as well as summercamps that can help with getting a few of the basics dialed.

At a certain point you'll have to 'sack up' - but there's zero shame in building up so you don't get hurt.
