Didn't really like the jump cut at 0:19, it felt a little out of place since nothing much changed in the action, and every other cut before then had been to at least a different angle. Other than that I liked it a lot. Good luck with the other jobs.

I think the edit is pretty solid, it cuts well with the music, matches the flow of the subject matter, and holds the viewer's attention. I think it would be cool if the piano shot appeared over a piano riff in the music, but that's pretty minor.

There are a couple overall thing's I'd adjust. I'd make the color a little warmer to seem more comfortable and inviting. If I'm going to work at a retirement home, I want it to have a warm, cozy, happy look and feel.

The other thing is the overall picture composition. I think you can afford to tilt up on almost all your shots to give more headroom (I'm assuming you shot 16x9). The biggest draw to me for a retirement home would be the people I'd be working with, and the 2:35 crop puts the focus less on people's faces and more on the work that is happening. I'm not going to apply to a retirement home to just manicure nails or play piano or check blood pressure - I can probably get a higher paying job doing those things at other places. The appeal lies in the interaction with the lady getting her nails done, or singing with the group of people, or talking with the resident while her blood pressure is checked. You should focus on the fact that these people are happy and fun. Tilting up to give more headroom on the "human" shots could bring more life and emotion into the video.

That was great but since you want feedback here is mine, of course don't take it personally or anything and feel free to ignore it, that was great, and better then anything I have produced but here I go. I feel like the color grade was a bit cold, I felt like the opening food scenes were lit in kind of a cold and sterile way that was not appetizing, I also felt like several other shots were graded to coldly, I think that in an ad like this it might be good to try and present everything in as warm and inviting a light as possible, almost a more "homey" color grade if that makes sense. Old folks don't want to go somewhere lit like a hospital, they want something warmer looking. This is really nitpicking on my part and I think the video was great, Good Luck!

Honestly I dont understand why there were so many shots focused on maintenance? I don't really understand what that was adding to the video. I might also consider rerecording the audio for the very first scene. When she says the word "call" he voice kind of cracks or wavers, and that doesnt install confidence in me which is a huge loss as thats right when the piece actually begins to take shape.

There were two maintenance scenes, the painting and installing light bulbs.

Im going to fix the colours. Make them a little warmer, I would agree with the answering, I think I have a different call that I can use.

Honestly wasn't feeling the song choice. I feel like an elderly home has nothing to do with electronic/hip hop so it shouldn't be put with it. It was just a bit too youthful. I'm not sure that I'm in the position to be recommending songs, but I felt like my opinion is worthwhile, unless you're sold on that song.

I was not trying to be defensive I was just saying there was only 2, this is a recruitment video, its suppose to show the jobs offered.

For a recruitment video, that was on point. It's tough to make this stuff interesting but you didn't loose me in 2 minutes.

Grade warmer as everyone else said. I would pull the shot where the lady is being fed soft food, just because that sends a weird vibe to me. Otherwise, you're doing great.

I thought the video was put together very well and had a great vibe. I'd maybe cut the shot of the women feeding the old lady. As much as that is how it is in real life, I feel like some elders may look at this as "wtf, I don't need some bitch feeding me like a baby!" Show the positives of this place, not all the details involved with elderly living.

Also, do you enjoy making films such as this? I mean is your passion filming skiing, or making whatever film that will make you money, regardless of industry? If your not making money with skiing films, then I'd say you need to make more connections within the industry and sell yourself better within the skiing industry and/or come up with ideas on how your work will separate yourself from other competitors in the filmaking business. Make connections with a few ski companies that you believe in their image as a company and start building a relationship. This may mean you have to go to multiple ski tradeshows to display your work and actually talk to the 'top dogs' of skiing companies.

Ohhh I thought this was for recruiting people to join the retirement center and I was going to say, there's a lot of shots of maintenance as well :P
