5'11", 195 lbs. 181 or 186? 50% park 50% all mountain in the east coast.
I know this is floating around in multiple threads, but was just seeing if anyone out there in my range has any opinions.
Thanks everyone.

if your 5'11 definitely go 181, Im 5'11 and i have 181 JMOs from last year and love them! Their definitely a bit more for the park but they shred the rest of the mountain and rock jumps like no other!

181 is a good length for your height. Sick ski, good choice.

i've owned both and really enjoy skiing both sizes. for me it came down to what i was going to use the ski primarily for which ended up being an all mtn ski so i'm on the 186. if i was going to use it more for park stuff i'd go with 181.

Thanks for your help guys, much appreciated. Everyone makes excellent points - the 181 is def the way to go for park/all mountain where the 186 would crush it more all mountain wise. I am definitely looking for something I can take everywhere at anytime and with being on the East Coast and skiing southern VT on the weekends I won't be getting powder frequently.
The 186 makes me feel like it may be more stable considering my weight and with the ski having the rocker profile making it run shorter.
But.....
The 181 may seem like the way to go if I am looking for something to take anywhere at anytime whether it is the park/trees/groomers/3-8 inch storms.

Did you notice a medium/large length difference compared to the two or was it somewhat minimal ?

i think that 186 would be too big and if you want to take it into the east coast woods it would definitely be more difficult, its a beefy ski

With your weight/height, you really could go with either size. The rocker will definitely make the 186's more manageable than their length would indicate. If you were going to ride park only, or spend a higher percentage of your time in the park, the 181's would be my vote.
For dual purpose all mountain crushing and park duties, the 186 would be beneficial for the all mountain aspect and could be a hindrance with your park riding only if you are tech on rails or throwing large spins.
I'm 6'2" @ 185lbs and I found the earlier 181 Jmos which were not available in a 186, to be too short for my all mountain/fuck around ski. I thought they lacked stability at speed. Your preference may vary, just my own experiences for your reference.
Really though, 5cm = 1.9685 inches. Does less than 2 inches really seem like that big of a deal?

I'm roughly 5'10 140lbs and 181's at dead centre. I ski roughly 50/50%, they kill jumps and all mountain esp day old chopped up pow, but I find them a bit big for rails.
You could really go either way, I sort of run with the rule if your between to sizes pick the larger, esp with rockered skis. This could almost come down to where were you thinking of mounting, if rec (-4) I'd maybe 181, but if your thinking of going like -2 to center get the 186's. But as division bell said, its 1in on either side of the binding, really not a big difference.

if you mount them at recommended you can barely notice it. i bet if you went with closer to center you wouldn't notice much of a difference either.

You weigh almost 200lbs, you'll be fine on the 186s.

Yeah that's the other thing man-- with my weight being close to 200lbs the 186's make the most sense vs. the 181 with it being more suitable for people 180 lbs and lighter range.
All in all --
181 feels the most sense for the park
186 makes the most sense for an all around everything.
Def back to not sure what to do now...
