backflips are damn near 100% in the hips. Throw your arms up, head back, and really throw your hips towards the sky and you'll bring it around and stomp every time. The center of your mass of your body is your hips, so if you get that to rotate, everything will.

this guy preaches a good point

You DON"T want to be committing to the flip on the takeoff
for example this is take off for a lincoln loop.
the tilt of the neck once in the air sets the rotation in motion

i see too many people mess up on the takeoff, and it upsets me that kids do not learn how get aerial awareness before sending

super useful! i guess for every trick you need to think: jump then spin/flip, like you would on a tramp, just not as much

Tanner mode initiate... WAIT TILL THE END OF THE JUMP BEFORE YOU HUCK IT. sounds simple but it can be deceptively hard. But I cannot stress this enough.

Definitely cracked my head on the lip due to prematurely flipping before. I find it best to try and wait until my feet are on the edge of the lip before I start flipping. Now I just feel it but for a while I had to really focus on that

Damn you have some talent btw I got a question I can frontflips but not backflip for som reason. How bad would my outcome be expected if I was to bail on a backflip, cuz that's mostly what I'm scared about, I can't commit to a Backie very well

Thanks for this. It was so frustrating to try to take my backflips from a smaller 10 foot backyard jump to a legitimate park jump and over-rotating every time because I would start my rotation too early. Hopefully I can take this to the slope and sack up this year
