i just don't like him that much. nothing against him and what he's done, i think its remarkable how he's made it so far and nothing but the most respect but i don't find the way he skis and his style that original or fun to watch.
Some things I would like to see from nick:
1) some actual urban shots, like a gnarly handrail or something
2) slowmo or something in his edits, if stept were editing, it would look so much better
this video is a year old, published november 2012, but yes i haven't riden hood before but from the thoughts of my local hill i could agree that rich ski kids think they're the best since daddy and mummy can buy them new full tilts and armada skis.. bunch of rich fucks
He's too good. Not many have a bag of tricks as big as his. Sure he's not super focused on style and everything but you gotta respect his talent and he would ruin any of the people just focused on style when it comes to talent.
He's focused on competition skiing and in order to win the major comps you need to land the most technical tricks every try. trick difficulty and consistency is more important in a competition season than having the perfect style. I think when he has time to focus on filming he'll be able to adapt and have a lot more style.
ok now people are just making shit up to hate on. 9/10 of those landings were perfect, and the rest were just slightly backseat but by no means a snowplow. i honestly can't understand why people hate so much, they pretend its style but i think it really just amounts to a confused angsty jealousy that someone can do every trick so well.
That was an exaggeration for sure, but jealous? It's not hard for me to accept that an X-games slope champion and future olympic athlete is better than I'll ever be.
I just don't understand how someone can be THAT good at skiing and still seem so off balance on their landings.
Moron haha, his dad actually lost his job when he was 15. Read about Nick, he's a really cool kid. He was selling candy bars and ski gear for lift tickets, and he also made posters talking about who he was, and why he wanted money for skiing - then he took those around the neighborhood and did odd jobs for people. After that, he still didn't have enough money for Windells but he got noticed by Kerry Miller in '09, then he got a full-ride athletic and academic scholarship there. You have no idea what you're talking about man.

I think the reason people hate on him is because (really hard to explain) he just does everything so perfect. You never really watch him like "holy fuck is he gonna land that" it more just like "ok this kid is amazing". I think he is a sick skier but not fun to watch because you never expect anything less than perfect from him.
