is there a way to buy a locked 5s and unlocking it myself? i found this but it's sketchy as hell

As there is no jailbreak/unlock out for ios 7, I would not recommend buying from those sites. It is really easy to do yourself once the actual software comes out to jailbreak/unlock your phone.
