This argument is silly.
1. Mr. Rhalves is a much better all-around skier than Mr. Hall. To prove this point Mr. Hall himself even said that he could ski a downhill course and make it to the bottom, maybe not with the fastest time, but he could do it. Well the point here, in alpine racing, is to be the fastest one to the bottom. Second example class, watch Mr. Hall try to ski in his videos and it appears that his hands are around his ankles as he trys to lay his skis onto edge. Third example, when in Alaska two seasons ago a crew was shooting side by side with Mr. Hall. Mr. Hall flew around in a heli for 2 hours or so stating that everything he saw wasn't good enough to ski when in fact the other film crew (company to remain nameless) went out and shot some hard terrain. It was later reported that night from the lodge that Mr. Hall was scared s***less from what he saw in the bird and wanted to go back to the lodge.
2. Mr. Hall is obviously a better terrain park and halfpipe skier than Mr. Rhalves. Nobody can contest this, just like Mr. Hall might attempt a downhill run Mr. Rhalves would attempt a run in the park. Yeah, he would make it to the bottom just like Mr. Hall said he could do in a downhill run.
3. The point is that the best all-around skiers have some form of a racing backgound to them, whether it is JP Auclair and Julien Regnier working the mogul circuit circa the late 1990s, or Sage spending his high school days skiing with a team at his local mountain. As ambassadors of the sport of skiing we need to respect people decisions to do whatever it is they want to do with the sport. It may not be what you and I enjoy but we can just go ahead and keep doing what we like to do. If we truly enjoy the sport of freeskiing then we should just share the love and not worry about who does what in the sport. I'm sure that both Mr. Hall and Mr. Rhalves would agree that they love what they do so hey, just keep doing what you love to do.
And to all the haters out there you can keep hating but it is just the man holding you down.
i love country
