What do you think is a better segment. You like the direction Sherpas went with the new Into the Mind segment or do you think that its like a movie, the sequel is never better than the original. Personal, i think the All.i.can street segment can never be topped.
Some parts of into the mind were cool, but it was trying so hard to be like All.I.Can. Which is by far the better movie. Did you even watch them why are you asking this?
All I Can was great for its message... it got everything across well. direction wise it strayed from its path and went diving into ski porn and then back at the environmental consciousness message... Into the Mind from a creative direction standpoint seemed far superior... there are so many subtleties that for a lot of people will go straight by the wayside... not to mention sound design and cinematography was much superior... I also know the kind of setbacks that hit hard during production for into the mind... such as the halfpipe segment where they have multiple cloned snowboarders. they got shit whipped on weather for that shoot and ended up with a far inferior product from what was originally planned... regardless of what everyone else thinks Crosland and Mossop made incredible movies in both cases...
Have you seen JP's street segments from each film? Tell me which one was better. Try and tell me that the 2nd one wasn't trying to be like the first. And now tell me I'm right.
Into the mind was a little too "artsy", but it was still a great movie. Its soundtrack was the best.
All.I.Can. was great as well, less "artsy", but I think I liked the segments in Into the Mind a little better than All.I.Can. but both were still great.
I dont feel like the second one was trying to be like the first. I think Sherpas has found a formula that works and one that no other film company is trying to do. Its like the rapper analogy, Rappers find a style that fits them and uses that to their advantage.
i was super into into the mind and the soundtrack selection was A+
the amount of 'oh look at these nice cameras we have' shots could have faded towards the end as it got a bit slow i thought, but the first 40 minutes were superb.
