If we are going to be venturing into BC terrain together, it would be nice to know a bit about each other before we go out and shred. (I think that skiing inbounds for a day or two together would be sick too.) So without further ado..

I'm Sean, 20 years old, originally from CT, but I've skied in VT and NH since I was 4. Currently I go to Bates College in Lewiston Maine, and my home mountain is Sunday River. Recently I've gotten away from park skiing, and more into tele, and thus have picked up a beacon, shovel probe set-up, my aiare level 1, and my wilderness first aid certifications within the past 2 1/2 years. I've only been in the BC a couple of times, with more experienced leaders, but I feel confident there, and look forward to getting out there more.

Ha just kidding.

I've skiied since I was 2 grew up at Yawgoo Valley in RI and Burke Mtn in VT, started racing at age 7, raced and trained all over New England, raced for Castleton State in VT, worked for MHSSC, coached full time at Nashoba Valley in MA, worked on Copper Mountain's Competition Crew, took sleds out in the backcountry a bunch while living in CO, and did some hiking too.

And now for personal reason I'm in RI for the season and working as a coach/instructor/ski shop employee/bartender.

I'm 24 and I have more pairs of skis than shoes. But I got a degree.

I'm Ryan, I'm 20 years old, I go to Brown University. I've been skiing since I was 2. My home mountain is Stratton but I've been to Whistler a bunch, and I've skied Alta, Breck, Vail, Northstar, Jackson, and a bunch more. Went to Argentina for two weeks to ski backcountry with SASS Global Travel when I graduated high school, so that's where much of my (admittedly limited) backcountry experience comes from. I have some experience with sidecountry stuff out west as well.

I'm glad this idea is gaining so much traction! :D

James, 17 and a senior in high school. Been skiing for a quite a long time now. I've always had a better affinity for trees and steeps than I have for park. I've always been one to venture deep into the woods and look for the fun stuff.

I don't exactly have a home mountain, I'm a nomad. I live right outside Providence RI.

No true backcountry experience but I plan on heading out west at least once this year and hope to complete my Avy 1 course.

Jason, High school senior 18. Born in Vail but lived in RI for most of my life. I've skied since forever and i want to get into BC. I teach at Yawgoo but Im most likely heading to Montana State or UofU. Im planning on getting my AVY 1 this year as well as picking up all the essential BC gear. I have an SUV but id prefer to hitch i ride with someone

Tommy, 20, Westchester County,NY. Skiing since I was 2, raced for 10 years, lived in Durango,CO for a year. Have around 15 days touring up in the San Juans, no official Avy 1 but I have plenty of experience in backcountry travel. I drive a crew cap pickup with a ski box so I have room for a bunch of stuff if people want to carpool. Full touring setup, beacon, probe, shovel, avalung, and I am also an EMT.
