Ski Research paper

Hey NS,
So I am a sophmore in high school and for my English class we are writing a 3 to 5 page research paper on cause and effect. She wants us to pick something modern and interesting to us so I thought "why not do skiing?"

So I'm doing the birth of freeskiing out of the snowboard revolution (the creation of the snowboard parks), jonny mosley doing the dinner roll and the strict rules of freestyle moguls and ariels. I want your opinion on how these birthed freeskiing and if you have a better set of causes. If you have a source (website, person to talk to, video etc) so please tell me. What caused freeskiing to become what it is today. Thanks guys. Louis

I think the whole sport has shaped itself on the riders, you look at people like wallisch or dumont, they have made the sport into what it is today, maybe just google search 'the history of free skiing' and see what you find, I would link some sites but I'm on mobile, good luck on the paper!

You could also argue Shane, the Gaffneys, and Squallywood (GNAR) was a direct effect of strict rules imposed on skiers at mountains all over the US, and Tahoe provided an environment that allowed for skiing to go bigger than before in the big mountain scene...also freeskiing before park and pipe.

you could probably do something about how the sport of freeskiing has become different since the time it started. Like how the tricks (dont forget about the rail tricks), styles, and parks have became different. Doing the changes of tricks whould be easy, going from single flips, to dubs, to trips, and i guess nosebutters/tailbutters. and like simply hitting a rail to doing wizard tricks.
