so it has come to my attention that more and more skiers are wearing nike clothing and having those nike collab apx's. I want to know why you guys are wearing the nike goggles when you can get the exact same goggle for cheaper same with the outerwear you can get better outwear for cheaper but you guys persist to buy nike why?

Not quite sure I understand the hate. Nike has spent millions researching fabrics and production techniques that have been proven in sports for years. Why would you not want to benefit from that knowledge on the hill? There stuff is nice and pretty reasonably priced, at least it is in the UK not sure about north America. No its not as tech as Arcteryx for example but it also costs half the price. Compare it to other value brands though and Nike is generally very good quality. It may not be as cool as say Saga, but if it works and costs the same or less, im not complaining.

I saw in the Nike not never credits when they first released it: "Special thanks to the sweatshop kids" then it got taken down and they had to change it.

if nike did more advertising with skiing then I would be fine with it. They are such a huge company I feel like they could really grow freeskiing. If I start seeing commercials and posters of skiers with Nike then I will be happy

Some of the ACG stuff from around 2007-2009 was very very good. They were about to transition it all to the 6.0 brand when their factory got flooded or something. Wasn't someone from Arcteryx or Burton AK involved with the design?

I hate Nike as a company, and I think it has ruined sports, especially skateboarding.

Having said that, they make some fucking unreal products. Koston 2s are my favourite shoes of all time, and certain runners they make fit my feet perfectly.

With any big company, there's the drawback of monopolization, but every big company is big for a reason.

actually they haven't really done anything to progress the sport, their outerwear is pretty much the same shit as everyone else except more expensive, their snowboard boots which they make are burtons, dcs, shredboots from a season ago( they are exactly the same with a nike tick) and their goggles are just dragons with a nike strap and everything costs more

There clothing is actually very nice and pretty on par price wise. I have tried quite a bit of there snow range this year and its so well made. That is the big differnce I find. They understand how to make clothing well thanks to all there years researching how to make technical clothing. Its much better then most indy ski brands. I have some of the old acg stuff too and its awesome.

Im no snowboarder but I have fitted there boots for a few years and people seem happy with them.

Goggles wise yeah they are just dragons, but people by collabs all the time here so why not.

Ive always tried to avoid buying gear from companies like nike and under armour, because i dont want my money to go towards developing some new football shit, which is is why i support companies that only do winter sports so they will use my money to hopefully develop something thats going to benefit me.

There's pros and cons
Pro: companies with money like nike can help progress the sport in terms of media production, terrain park builds, pros wont be broke as shit, and nike could possibly bring skiing to the masses in a cooler way than the olympics will
Cons: companies like nike enter skiing with money, it takes the industry out of the actual skiing community, smaller companies will struggle to compete, the garage start up companies that can be original and cool like line will struggle to succeed.

Bout 3 years ago, i bought 100% gor-tex Nike Jupitor jacket, got if for $60 new at the Nike outlet. To this day its one of my favorite jackets! Its also fresh as FUCK

yeah people are happy with their boots because they take the technology from burton etc and just build make rip offs with their own brand towards it, i just don't see all the hype around it and such

Like I say im no snowboarder but I have worked on quite a few nike boots, including some for Olympic athletes and they are well made. Nike are big in snowboarding and you cant do that by  just making burton rip offs.

Do you really think Nike needs to rip off Burton when it comes to making footwear? What a joke.

NS is all about how rad is your team, and how cool the sponsors are to their athletes. When Sammy jacked his knee up, where do you think he was working on rehabbing it? Nike HQ. Not many companies that sponsor skiers can offer the same type of facilities, and assistance to get their athletes back in shape.
