I look for the maker to not come running to register on freeski forums to pander to 13 year old's who don't really know what makes a good ski. Make the ski's you want to make. See if others like them. Build some credibility based upon your construction, designs, and customer service. Come back in a couple of years.
length, width, rocker pattern, flex pattern, weight, durability, company reputation, price. graphics are by far the least important factor...the only time they'd come in to consideration is if all other factors are equal in deciding between two pairs of skis.
Basically this. I know what i like in a ski and am very fusy.
My dream ski, is something like 115 underfoot. Stiff under foot to about 30cm infront of bindings. With a pretty gradule flex to the tip. a slow rise rocker. then medium flex tail with smaller rocker. with a ideal mounting point around 2.5 from true center. And traditional sidecut. i.e 140/115/130
something with camber underfoot but rockered tip and tails, that is stiff enough underfoot to slay big jumps but with enough flex in the tip and tail that i can still swing butter around. preferably between 100 and 110 underfoot so i can rip all over the mountain float on pow days and still rip in the park. light weight. durable. fast. a cool graphic is always a plus but not necessary and with capability for centermount
Don't worry, we've got our own ideas we've been working on! We were just looking for some opinions on what people like in skis, thanks for sharing what you like in a ski!
There's nothing wrong with being fussy about something like your ski. We hope to make very personalized skis, and it sounds like you know just what you want!
