This commercial just pisses me off

I can't be the only one who gets pissed off when they see this commercial. AT&T is basically saying, you've got friends, work, responsibilities? Don't worry about all that stuff, the piece of plastic in your hands is more important, sit back down and forget about all that stuff..

Really? You're reading waaaay too much into this commercial.

Somebody missing the bus because they're looking at their iPhone home screen is funny. That's it.

Missing a business meeting to look at an iPhone home screen is funny. That's it.

And a guy having dinner by himself with his phone is funny. Some advertising is just meant to get a couple small laughs and nothing deeper.

I mean its not missing the bus, he gets up, and sits back down. CHOOSING to miss the bus to stay on his phone.

She doesn't miss the business meeting, she stands up when called in and then sits back down. CHOOSING to stay on the phone instead of working.

And the last guy works at the restaurant, He's not having dinner by himself. And instead of going home he stays on his phone.


Kids who are glued to their phone, 10 feet away from each other texting and FBing their friends who are in the same room is crap. I constantly see children at dinner with their families on tablets, phones, ipods.. not paying attention to their family. But you're right, that's okay for an advertising agency to promote people to have less social interaction and stay attached to a piece of technology. You probably should go check instagram, maybe you got a like.

You are wrong with that thought. Who do you think puts on the ads for Red Cross after a natural disaster? There are ad agencies behind that.

Truth. A lot of advertising agencies run awful campaigns that are socially shit. But there are some good ones out there that get forgotten. We're not all bad..

The things being advertised aren't necessarily negative, I just think that the morals of most ad agencies are a bit shit...I may have just watched to much Mad Men though...
