Where to get metal pipes for skiing on

Where do ski places get the tubes or bars or any metal for jibs? Im tired of pvc and it doesn't feel much likr the real thing. Where can I get some actual rail materials. (Home depot and lowes got nothing even close)

most places get their pipes from old snowmaking equipment or chairlifts. Ask your resort about getting some or go to a fabricator and see if they have extra stuff lying around.

Just google metal suppliers in your area. You should be able to find something.

Actually its not. You can get a 10 to 20 foot metal pipe for like $10. The cost in rails is all in the labor to weld it together.

I go to the dump - in the metal recycling bit. Also if you have an broken/old tramp the legs are good rails.

Truth.  Generally rails are pretty cheap to make.  Right now I'm paying $46 for a 21ft. length of 1-1/2" schedule 40 pipe.  An equivalent in square tube I'm paying $59 for a 24 ft. length.
