I used to play a lot on Full Tilt until the crack down. Anyone tried sites like Carbon Pokr or Lock Poker? Is there a better site? Are they legit? Is this a repost? Can God microwave a burrito so hot that he himself could not eat it?
I still to cash games. Online seems sketchy now. Although since I moved I haven't found shit for poker games. Used to play enough to pay bills. It's been at least a month since the last time I've even played.
I used to make about $2k-$5k a month. Declared it for taxes and everything. Lost about $1200 stuck in my Full Tilt account when they shut it down and they are still "trying to do everything they can to get it to me". Luckily there is a casino 15 miles from my house now, but I like playing sit and gos and higher stakes cash games and that casino doesnt get interest for sit and go tournaments and is almost exclusively $1/$2 NL and occasionally $3/$6 NL
That's what I was always worried about. Having it get shut down with money in it. There's a casino a little over an hour from me, might start going there once in a while. Haven't been there before. I keep trying to get something together in the town I'm in but nothings happening. At one point there was a weekly game next door to my house. That shit was clutch. Only $20 buy in tourny, but they'd play as many 3 or 4 games a night. Some people would leave after the first couple. But I could make 300+ without going more than 100 feet from my house. I mean I know I could play online in my house but I mean cash, no chance of bullshit close to home.
It's been a year or 2 since I've played regularly. I miss it.
The casino buy my house has a weekday tournament every day at 1015am with a $40 buy in with a $5 dealer bonus that gets 30-50 players daily. Kinda hard with work but I can sneak to it at times. I usually play the $60 friday night game that gets about 150 people. I cashed the last 5 times I played in it but I want to play many tournaments in a night like you are talking about.
It's wasn't that bad. I think the most people we ever had over there was about 18. If the games take longer place less games but more money in it. It would start about 9pm on mondays and end anywhere from 2-5:30am depending on when people didn't want to play anymore.
A couple times I got knocked out and went home, made food and went back over for more. For the time the amount $ wasn't a lot but I had a good time and it was convenient as fuck.
Yeah dude, my cousin plays poker full-time and living in Las Vegas, he lost about $20k when Full Tilt shut down, and they are still "working on getting it back" to him. But, from what I know, certain states are starting to pass legislature to allow poker back into the states. Some states (I know Nevada is one of them) have poker sites that you can only use if you have an address in the states. I used to play on Merge a bit, now I just play for fun every once in a while on Carbon. I'm going to wait for some major legislature changes before I get back into anything serious.
