Ads that expand

yep but according to the staff they are "malware" on my computer. did a scan and didn't find anything.

Just had a t mobile ad do it that was from the side bar. Also obviously the mammoth one. And after you posted this ran a scan myself and nothin shady

I have Ghostery (firefox plugin that blocks ad tracking etc) haven't had a problem with those.

But I did on my laptop earlier in the day.

It really depends.

Sometimes there is malware that goes on people's computers and they get ads overwritten with ultra super-duper annoying shit. So if something is way out of the ordinary, then its worthwhile to run a quick scan.

Of course, there are other ads that are expandable which get bought directly or come through one of the many ad networks we use to fill the gaps.

Expandable ads are supposed to only be upon user interaction when they do happen, so if something is blasting you without you doing anything its a good reason to be suspicious.

I'm sure they're talking about the #MammothStories ad that is most certainly not malware, just an expandable ad. Just keep your cursor under control and you won't know it's there.
