NS email down

Hi everyone.

Has anyone else noticed a error when they try and log into NS email?
I'm getting a "Sorry, the requested email service has not been set up or has been suspended".

I thought I read a post of Mousseau's not too long ago where he stated they would be shutting the NS email system down. Sorry to potentially break bad news to you man. But maybe someone else can confirm?

Thanks for the quick reply. Can anyone else confirm? I haven't been active on the forums for a long time. If it's true it would have been nice to have some notice.

It's True

The email service has shut down at the beginning of the month. The hosting provider that was set up way back 10 years ago was just pretty much failing to offer a stable service. We looked into it and very few people were actively using their accounts anymore and most were being flooded with spam. A couple notices were sent out to all users over the last while that this was happening.

We tried to give people as much time as possible to move away from the service, sorry you didn't get a chance

There was a mass email that went out requesting responses from anyone who had active accounts.

Zero responses came in, and after polling a zillion times in the forums, we gave up.

So yes, I'm sorry... this email address is no more.

Honestly man I'm really sorry. We mentioned this a few times over a few years, and sent out a few mass emails in the system.

That system sucked, which was why it was being retired. We really didnt' get ANYONE telling us they still used it so we finally gave into the pressure being given to us by the company and allowed it to lapse.

I am sad to say, yes - your email and address are completely gone. :(
