if you're awake in north america, look to the eastern sky and to the left of orion's shoulder under gemini you will see jupiter bright as ever. i think it's so fucking cool and i wanted to share with everyone.
its going to take me about 2 minutes to type this sentence, about 3 more minutes to find a proper constellation map, maybe 1 minute to put on a sweatshirt and shoes, another minute to walk to my car, probably 10 minutes to go anywhere outside of the city where there isn't fucking light washing out all them stars and spacey shit, and then another 10 minutes to drive home, 5 minutes to shower and brush my teeth, and then i have to come in here and downvote you and tell you what a waste of time it was because I COULD HAVE BEEN SLEEPING
Love stuff like this. If you ever get a chance to use a high powered telescope, check out Jupiter's spot and Saturn's rings "up close." So cool to see, and you constantly have to adjust the telescope because of their orbits.
i recommend getting the starwalk app. you point your phone at the sky and it can show you the real time sky, when you move it moves. i use it all the time and am fortunate enough to be able to see the stars most nights, i love going out at night. i was just on my way out to watch the aurora. will find jupiter.
