GoPro3 footage changes look when edited???

So I'm editing some b roll shots off a GoPro 3.  When I enlarge the video clip or add a transition (fade in fade out) it changes the look of the footage.  It loses color and contrast.  Anyone have any idea why this is?  I'm using Final Cut Pro and my sequence settings are 1280x720, 60fps and the GoPro footage is the same.

Do the exports look weird? Or just during playback in fcp

Haven't tried to export yet.  My sequence is 17 minutes so I'm not really in the mood to test that yet.  I need to cut it down to about 12 but just curious why these files look different when I alter the footage.

You don't have to export the whole thing just set the in and out points a few secs apart

that just happens sometimes in fcp. ive had that problem like starting and stopping and what not but it shouldn't render like that. its only temporary. should check just in case..

but if you have a gopro3 why are you shooting in 720p 60fps instead of 1080p 60fps? unless you did and just put it into a 720p timeline to be able to upscale a little and shift around the image then that would make sense

Make sure it has actually rendered through. Also try exporting small segments like mentioned earlier. I havent really had this issue though so if that doesnt work then i dont know what to tell you.
