i saw torin getting somewhat bossed around by a very commercial esque film crew at PC last season. he didn't really seem to enjoy it, downside of getting that corporate money

Very few people in this life get to make money without being bossed around some. I don't see why t hall, or anybody for that matter, wouldn't be happy about this. The guy is getting paid to do what he loves. It's not like kelloggs is making him do anything that he doesn't want to.

Pop Tarts have been sponsoring slopestyle and pipe events for a while now. They gave me about a 100 this past year at PCMR.

It is an interesting point though and one that should be considered. It will be neat to see the public's reaction and the possible changes that occur around local hills. Will there be more slopestyle based parks that follow that simple formula? How will the park scene change? What does it mean for the industry, not only in terms of gear but in terms of film companies, will they change formats to meet the demand or will those newly "enlightened" skip over it? As you jokingly said, will people or the newcomers forget about fun and only focus on winning, are we doomed like mogul and aerial comps? Will an increase of followers cause a loss of culture as we potentially move into the mainstream? etc.

Sure I am making it sound like there will be a crazy amount of people who jump on board, it might not be the case but there will still be an impact, to what extent and how "positive or negative" it might be is unknown.

I don't think you have any idea what comes with signing with a company like keloggs. This ain't a ski company. This is a multi-national that has little or no idea what park skiing even is. Its not just a "few interviews". It's commercials, promo events, competitions etc. What if i said to you, here's 100G's oh but you have to place in the olympics to get my support.

So it is all that difficult, you fucking derp.

doesn't sound all that difficult compared to a normal persons work schedule. just because your mommy still spoon feeds you dollar bills doesn't mean you know what hard work is. no one forced him to sign, he signed because he understands it's a fucking awesome opportunity to make money doing something he loves to do

Also, maybe it wasn't his choice to sign. His parents spent A LOT of money getting him to where he is today. He would be a spoilt as you if he was just like "nah, too much work".

are you kidding? First of all stept doesn't = torin 2nd getting paid to ski and do a few ads is better than any other realistic scenario. You absolutely cannot say that a pro skiers life is harder than traditional work. It is physically demanding but so are 100+ menial jobs that pay 8.50$ an hour.

its blurred out because kellogg's does not have the rights to use the armada logo. If you use a logo in a commercial piece and do not have the right you will get sued. It makes complete sense. Kellogg's did not want to get sued by armada for using a trademarked logo.

You're a fucking idiot. Torin is what, 18 years old? He's making a shit load of money and can't even drink a beer yet. If that isn't living the American dream then i don't know what is. Also, you're arguing that being a pro skier isn't easy. We know it isn't easy fuckstick, that's not what this discussion is about. It's about how torin is doing what he was going to do either way, even if Kelloggs didn't pay him. He would pursue the Olympics and try to win. Does Kelloggs breathing down his neck add a little pressure? Sure, but he knew that going into it. The guy is getting paid to do what he loves. The ends more than justify the means in this situation so you and skiierman can go back to fisting each other now.
