Hey ns, I am looking for a used car for under 10 grand. I want a reliable car that does well in snow. I know this is a large range, but what suggestions do you guys have? Thanks a lot, plus K for replies!

Well I'll give you a slightly different opinion from everyone else.
I have a 2005 saab 9-3, handles great in the snow and all around even though its FWD.
If you're looking for a wagon a saab 9-2x would be great. My friend has one, AWD, great ski and all around car. I really like saab's but you should definitely consider looking into them

Are you just looking for a car or could suv's be in the cards? For car, go with subi's for simplicity and reliability. Many choices here from cheap to $$$ (i.e. forester for cheap, WRX/STI for mucho cashola). But in reality you can easily pick up a 01-04 WRX for under 10, or go for old school 2.5 or impreza naturally aspirated fun. The outback/outback sports are sick as well for a ski car.

I'm also a fan of the volvo swaggin wagon (I'd go with V70r/xc70 from 90's, don't go with the 2001-2004 xc70's as they had serious trans/coolant  issues), but otherwise you will be looking into maybe a saab 9-3x (same thing as a wrx re-badged).

these speed6's are damn nice seen stock ones running around $7000

1999-2003 Lexus RX300 is an awesome reliable mountain car and can be had for sub $8000
I had 2000 Lexus RX300 for 3 years, and with good all season radial tires, that care was a fucking tank. Decent MPG for a small SUV, and you can get a totally loaded one for a good price with good miles. Toyota engine will last way past 250,000 on those.

I have a 2001 RX300 that I'm just about to sell at close to 200k miles. The thing's been a great car; never had any issues and never gave me trouble in snow despite living in the mountains and only having mediocre all season tires on it. I'll be bummed to see that car go, I've had it for over ten years.

to give you more options besides awd wagons that newschoolers recommends I'll say:

Toyota 4runner

Jeep cherokee

They aren't great on gas but they are dependable, cheap, and great in the snow.

Well pretty much any front wheel drive or awd car nowadays is good in the snow, but imo dont go subaru they arnt really that good of cars and most of the time abused when you buy them used. So Volkswagon TDI's are a top pick for me or a volvo, and a wagons is an awesome choice for skiing!

op get a pathfinder,4 runner or a sr5, easy to maintain, extremely reliable, cheap to mod/fix(compared to 2000 veichles), go literally anywhere, can carry all your shit and some buddies, also room to sleep, and pretty easy to come across one.

and then you get to the gas station and want to claw your eyes out. My buddy got a pathfinder, and they're sure fun to go blasting offroads in, but they're not fun to fill up.

look at audi wagons they have the best awd system and have plenty of power just make sure it has a full maintenance record, get the serial number and audi will send you all the records they have. just keep a few grand in case something goes wrong because something eventually will but it's well worth it.

To OP, get a glorious Volvo, Volvos are actually harder than diamonds. They're made out of a material called Volvonium, mined in the mountains of Sweden by hard-working Nordic Gnomes. After the material is melted by launching it into the sun via herring-powered rocket, the molten Volvonium is allowed to cool slightly, and is then beaten into shape by Mjolnir, the hammer of Thor.
