Just got the 188cm Al Dente and I was wondering how I should mount them i was thinking factory because of the tip rocker but I was also thinking center or -1
Because they don't make a symmetrical ski. Having a ski centre mounted on a non symmetrical ski will have you working against the skis sidecut, so the company generally doesn't recommend it.
Not really. Most skis will stay the same width for usually a few cm's in front and behind the recommended line. However often centre is past this point on asymmetrical skis, so you will be working against it, but on others it will be fine.
I'm not saying you can't or shouldn't centre mount them, just it's just usually not recommended unless the ski is symmetrical. However relating to the topic I don't think centre will work well on the Al Dente, with the rocker in the tip if you mount them forward you'll be skiing more tail then tip at centre. The recommended line that Armada gives for them is probably going to work the best.
I've mounted my new AlDente +1cm to Factory.
So I'm about -2,5cm compared to Center (I don't like centered skis), and +1cm compared to Factory (to be better than Factory).
