It depends on how strict your school is, but a suspension will go on your record, so colleges will see that I guess. I would say its not really worth it at a fball game where a lot of people you know are there parents, teachers, family friends, etc. that could rat you out. Good luck with it tho

it's not the end of the world, but make sure you're on your best behavior from here on out. everybody makes mistakes, just make sure that's your only one. having good grades and being involved in school should counter balance the suspension.

if you don't have good grades, and you aren't involved in school activities though, then yes, as had been said you are probably a little bit fucked

you'll be fine. i know someone who got suspended a couple of times and expelled from one high school and still got in to a good school. just make sure your gpa is straight and you've got a damn good act/sat score.

Downrate me all you want but I know two kids who dealt with similar shit and were set for college. One of them was expelled from 3 different schools over the course of 3 years in high school, suspended from the 4th and he got into NYU. The other kid had 2 DUIs and a few public intoxications on his record and he got into Franklin & Marshall.

My observations have led me to believe that really, colleges could give two shits about someone who has gotten into a little bit of trouble, they're more interested in the grades and sat scores, I know both these kids got mostly A's and B's and had high SAT scores accompanying their record.

Colleges generally wouldn't even know what trouble you have gotten into at school - the transcripts are limited to what courses you took and your grades. Just get someone who thinks highly of you and won't mention this stuff to write any letters of reference and you're fine. The permanent record is largely a myth, yeah it exists, but it won't affect you beyond the confines of the classroom. It certainly won't prevent you from getting that job 15 years down the line.

From the Vancouver School Board Website with regards to who has access to the Permanent Student Record and other documents in your file:
In keeping with the School Act, Sec. 9, a student and the parents or guardians (as defined in the “Interpretation” section of the Act) of a student of school age are entitled on request and while accompanied by the principal or a person designated by the principal to interpret the records, to examine all student records kept by a board pertaining to that student, and to receive a copy of any student record that they are entitled to examine. In keeping with the provisions of the School Act and the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act, students' personal records shall be maintained in a secure manner that guards the confidentiality of information and protects the privacy of students and their parents.
Access to pertinent information in these records will be available to appropriate school and district personnel who have a ‘need to know’ in order to fulfill the duties of their position. The ‘need to know’ basis is to be strictly interpreted and authorized by the school principal with respect to student records located at the school, by the area administrators with respect to assessment reports kept at Area Learning Services offices, and by the Associate Superintendent of Learning Services with respect to records kept by District Learning Services.
As required by the School Act, Secs, 79 and 168 (2), and Ministerial Order M14/91, student records shall also be made available, with proper authorization, to a person planning for the delivery of, or delivering health, social, or support services to the student, or to the Board's insurer to the extent necessary to meet any claims being made against the insurance provided to the Board by that insurer. Such records are released on the understanding that the person receiving such information shall not disclose it except for the purposes intended. Records will also be made available in response to valid court orders and subpoenas and/or in keeping with legislation.

Note: no mention of college boards, potential employers, your future overly-controlling girl friend etc.
