Hats off to 4bi9 and "All damn day"

I'm not sure if there's another thread on this, but I just got my copy of "All damn day" and I'm seriously impressed.

Without giving anything away, that was one of the most creative and fresh movies I have seen in a while. From the streets all the way down to the powder segments, there was something that blew my mind in each part.

My personal opinion on today's skiing is that too many people are getting "creative" confused with "corny". I don't want to watch someone ski ballet a rail, I want to see an entirely different approach to a single feature that catches me off guard, and it seemed like every other shot was doing exactly that. There were so many times during the movie where I felt legitimately jealous that those guys got to hit something that looked so fun. It was a perfect balance between mellow "style-y" tricks and jaw dropping bangers.

Now I'm all excited to get out and make some crazy builds of my own this year.

What were your guys' thoughts?

His part was what stood out to me too. I had to go back and watch it a few times over again.

I finally watched it today as well! So damn good! So many awesome BC booters!! And as always some crazy urban. It was really nice to see a fair amt of shots from Wally at Whistler in there!

but I just got the digital download and it was too fucking good, about to watch it again so I can better comprehend the madness. Berman's overshoot at Highland High School is fucking gnarly especially when you see that spot in person. Cinematography, skiing basically everything about it was so on point everyone fucking killed it!

this and mutiny were the most impressionable ski movies this year for sure. Not something that will always get gapers super excited but for those who know what's going on it's truly amazing, good work boys.

I am going to reiterate what has been said numerous times in this thread, Karl's segment was all-time. Definitely the best single rider segment I have seen this year. He is so well rounded and stomps the piss out of everything with the most mellow g'ed out style. The gallena pass switch 9 had me literally stand up and yell at my TV.

Apart from the banger closer, I was blown away by the production quality on the entire video. The cinematography and editing were top notch. For the budget these guys work with it is unreal what they churn out. The quality is every bit as good as Level 1.

9.9/10




I would give it a 10 if there were more than three shots of Tanaka ;)

I was beginning to forget about 4bi9 once Wallisch and Henrik basically stopped shooting full segments with them. But the crew this year in the film was top notch. Loved all the riders, loved the soundtrack. Basically a cinematic soundtrack that could be used in a feature Hollywood film.

This thread made me go and buy this film on iTunes and i was not disappointed one bit. Very impressive cinematography and editing. I love how 4bi9 and Stept focus so much on production and the high quality of their films.

For me, its all about cinematography and cinematic these ski films are. I would say thats half the battle right there. I believe it makes the skiing that much more entertaining. These film companies is what the money in the ski industry should be going towards, not the competition skiers.
