I have the Oakley flare jacket. Its kinda heavy bc of the magnets but its really durable and has good venting

Don't worry about any certain brand. Buy a jacket made with Gore-Tex Pro fabric. It's really water resistant and is so so durable and bomber. eVent is a good fabric too but there aren't many eVent jackets with much style

Armada shifter (last years) or Outland (this years) gore tex pro shell jacket. I have the shifter and love it. You can get the shifter for under $400 on a couple of different web sites, it was $550 last year.

i currently have the Armada Shifter and Orage Retallack jackets. both have held up pretty damn well. worn the Orage one more times but not for any specific reason. Saga Anomie and Monarch are good too.

Patagonia and arcteryx make the best outerwear. They don't look the best though. Saga and virtka make great outerwear, but not like these guys.

Anything that's gore-tex and has a 20k-30k+ water resistance will keep you 100% dry
