Cat Tracks! Saves Boot Soles!!

I recently bought some Cat Tracks and I just want to say everyone should buy a pair! When walking in the parking lot your boots get really banged up and with cat tracks they protect them! I'm not saying wear them anytime you aren't skiing, but at least from lodge to the mountain or vice versa...here is a pic of them..you can pick them up for ~$15

Seen a member on here the other night who had Full Tilts for like a half season. He couldn't get his bindings mounted to the boots I think because they were so chewed up. $15 to preserve $400 boots sounds worth it to me.

where do you store them once you get to the lift? i usually just park where i can get to snow right away to walk on. ya know?

this. or i just put my boots on in the lodge so i only have to walk on snow to get to the lift.

Also, looking at the idea, I do see the storage issue. Personally I haul my boot bag and gear into the lodge, put it on, then walk out from there.

They fold up together (both pairs) into a size of about a tennis ball simply store it in your jacket or pant...

wooo that was me, ended up bringing them to another shop where i got new heels and said yolo about the toes and got them mounted as is. inb4 i tear my acl or some shit but lets hope for the best. gonna pick up a pair of these cat tracks tho

You know, I seen the pictures and didn't think they looked that worn. It is hard to tell from pictures, but yeah, they just didn't. I can see the tech's perspective on the scenario though. Glad you were able to find an alternative though!

Cat Tracks are awesome, used them for 10 years. Just make your boots last that much longer.

For storage while skiing, I just put the thin rubber bit in the middle on the top buckle of my boot then fold over into the heel bit of cat track. Once you put your pants over the top you wont even realise they are there.

I just carry my boots from the parking lot and put them on in the locker room. Makes the walk more enjoyable especially if I come a little late and end up parking in the back 40. I'd rather walk in street shoes with my ski boots slung over my shoulder then have to walk a long ways in ski boots. If it's snowing I just put ziplock sandwich bags over the cuffs to keep snow out of the boots.

Works especially well since I bought some really hideous waterproof snow boots off of steep and cheap for $20. The things are god awful ugly, but functional and cheap so I can just leave them in plain sight in the locker room without fear of them getting stolen.

The point, since you missed it, is that you can save your boots without buying cat tracks.

Cat tracks are fine if you want to go that route but there are other options that don't cost you anything, before I got my cheap snow boots I used an old beat up pair of sneakers.

I had these, they were nice. I lost them after a bout 2 weeks though, so I was pretty bummed. The storage was a bit of a nuisance, but not that big a deal. Yes, they're made of rubber. But it's still uncomfortable if you can feel them scratching your leg through your snow pants. Now I just put my boots on in the lodge and call it good.

Actually a good idea. Im gunna buy the ugliest moon boots i can find and just leave em at the base. hopefully someone who works there doesnt throw them out or some shit. or even worse some hipster thinks there smashing and collects them for his shit wardrobe.

If I ever have to walk very far in my ski boots, I use these. When I lived in West Vail, I used to have to walk to the bus stop from my place, and then from Vail station to the hill. I had ski boots without rubber soles on the toe and this saved the boots. When I skied I would just fold them over the velcro shin strap to hold them in place. Just tuck them under the pant cuff and you'll never know they are there. Pretty much same as above.

I use them. They fold up small and you can fit them easily in your 7XXL pants pockets. You just have to make sure to get the mud from the parking lot off of them before storage or they'll get your pants muddy. They're much easier than having to find a place to store your shoes as was suggested above. A lot of resorts have no place to keep your stuff if you don't want to pay for a locker.
