Favorite scary movie??

I realize that I am a day after Halloween so it's a little off but I'm a big horror/scary movie fan and was wondering what everyone elses favorites were. I'm talking GOOD scary movies, not cheesy/gory excuses for cinema as of late (i.e. Saw 1-80, Paranormal Activity 1-34, etc..)

Has anyone seen Rob Zombie's "Halloween"? Fucking awesome scary movie. Genuinely dark and terrifying. I think that is the best scary movie that has been made in the last few years.

Obviously, the best scary movies are the older ones that had an original plot and were truly scary. I.E. The Shining, Stephen King movies, etc...

In terms of lately, I'd say that "Sinister" and "Insidious" were decently scary. Especially that creepy ass dude in Sinister, he made the movie. Some other favorites are "The Devil's Rejects" (which is probably more on the 'fucked' side than the scary side), The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2003 version), 28 Days Later, The Descent (that whole cave thing was really fucked), and The Sixth Sense.

If you haven't seen it already, you should watch House of 1000 Corpses. It's the prequel to The Devil's Rejects.

Insidious 2 was really good, compared to other newer scary movies. Still sometimes think of some scenes before going to sleep haha.

I thought Sinister was really scary, but the ending kinda ruined it for me.

I saw this one like 2 years ago, yet I have to this day not had the guts to go up to our attic

No One Lives is a really good thriller. but i watched the conjuring last night and sinister tonight and i preferred the conjuring because it was more fast paced, sinister didn't get good for me til like the last 3/4ths of the movie

Seriously, Scream has the most terrifying opening scene of all time! You know what im talking about if you saw it before "Scary movie 1" (which also happends to be one of the greatest parod of all time)
Saw this when i was 12 and it absolutley scared the crap outta me!!! Such a great classic!
