Hello NS,

In a few weeks I will be projecting a little movie I made for an event in my little town and I'm looking for a software that could project the movie on a beamer.

I know I can just use VLC and pause it and unpause it when it begins, but this method kind of suck cuz at the end of the movie you get a big VLC logo and you can't just add a song in a playlist and not have glitches between the song and the movie.

So I'm searching for a software like what PowerPoint has, it has some kind of projector assistant where you can easily manage what is displayed. Like have a little playlist of a song followed by the movie, followed by an other song.

Why not build your playout in your editorial software of choice? I usually just build presentations and screen movies off a timeline in Premiere with the projector set as the output monitor. That way you have complete control over transitions, titles, audio levels, etc.

Thanks, well my computer isn't actually fast enough to playback videos in premier without skipping frames, so that will not work unfortunately... If I', unable to find a software to do the job I'll just have to export a second time my movie with songs before and after it !

But a software would really be awesome !

I would just export the video with 30 sec of black at the end so you can flip on the lights and turn off the projector? or maybe a fade to a still frame? then just play it on the monitor?

Just export a few seconds of black and throw it on a VLC playlist before/after your movie. As for music, just control spotify/itunes/whatever from your laptop screen, while leaving the few seconds of black filler paused on the projector screen. When the screening starts, just pause the music and hit play in VLC. I've run multiple film fests at my school this way and I haven't had any issues.

This is probably what i'm going to do although I found a software called "Screen Monkey" that could maybe be used for displaying videos and song in a presentation mode !
