Most Asshole Thing That Ski Patrol Has Done To You
when they went to pull my ski boot off of my shattered leg they took the shell off and then the liner so they had to tug on my snapped tibia, fibula and femur TWICE.
but really, they fucking killed it with my injury. they responded super quick and were professional as hell. some of them even came to the hospital to check up on me. ski patrol homiez are the best homiez.
I had a really close save after coming off a windlip and having rocks below me, i was able to ski it out and a patroller gave me a high five. I didn't want his fucking high five so I told him to fuck off because i am supposed to hate patrollers.
Yeah I'm going to stop you there. I'm going to give you an example here. In all of Park City Mountain Resort's long history, there have only been 3 deaths as a result of avalanches. Awesome, right? Yeah problem is, those 3 deaths were a result of another person, up top, poaching a closed area, triggering an avalanche that killed the 3 people that were down in the open part of the bowl.
The fuck head that triggered the slide was fine.
So, no, there aren't people that can poach safely. If its closed, its closed for a damn good reason (east coast its not as clear cut).
just stay away from south dakota, all of you would hate it. most of the fun i get out of skiing is loosing ski patrol. all our "patrollers" are absolutely horrible at skiing. but i guess the most dick thing they have ever done was when i was about 12 i was hitting a c box and caught and fell straight to my shoulder which broke my collarbone idk anyway the dumb motherfuckers put me in those shitty sleds, took me up the mountain and when the snowmobile stopped he kinda forgot a nigga was dragging by a rope with slack tied to the back, slowed down way to fast and i just slammed into the back of the sled. otherwise I'm not gonna hate on big mountain ski patrol dudes, yeah they can all be assholes but they do still serve a purpose no doubt.
the biggest patrol dicks are generally east coast and midwest resort patrol who power trip hard and dont do anything more dangerous then testing out a mellow 15 degree tree run.
All the respect in the world for patrollers who have heavy real responsibilities and often see gnarly injuries. And also, I have had nothing but good experience with patrollers except for one experience at Lost Valley in Maine. Got a pass clipped for skiing switch, slowly i might add on an empty run.
Once me and my brother took a wrong turn out of bounds, ended up way too low and had to hike out 3hours as it started to get dark I called my friend at the lodge to let him know we were alive, no need to call patrol we'll be fine, well he called them anyway and they skinned out to make sure we were alright. They were super cool about it didn't even lecture us about fucking up. I really like patrol never had an issue with them being dicks to me.
My friend and I went to hunter mountain NY for the first time. We had never been there before and as we were getting on the lift these two patrollers pulled us out of line. We are like yeah can we help you? They go if you EVER pull that little stunt you did on the lift yesterday again you will never ski here. I look at him and said you definitely have the wrong person it is our first days here. Hes like no I know it was you two and I see you here all the time. Im like alright man here look at this day pass. He looked at me with a pissed off face then left. Never even apologized... like what?
Ive only ever had ski patrol talk to me once or twice about skiing switch, trying to tell me its dangerous. I then proceed to flash my staff pass and inform them that I am instructor. They then leave me alone as I stare them down skiing switch down the hill away from them.
I Ski At Windham (Right Down The Road) And That Is Weird Because The Hunter Patrol Has Always Been Pretty Nice To Me. The Patrol Let Me Ski At Hunter For Free Once.
was skiing opening weekend up at big sky and decided to follow the lift line to meet 6 patrollers at the bottom yelling at us for going down a closed run. got a free snowmobile ride to the bottom later to find out that the newb patroller forgot to put up the rope and signs showing that the run was closed. never even said sorry when they were in the wrong
So me and my friends decided to race down the hill and since it was during the school week nobody was at out mountain and we basically had the whole slope to are self. Well it turns out that ski patrol didnt think that and as we were getting back in line for the lift this guy calls us over and he says that we can either get are passes pulled or run halfway up a double black diamond which was pretty steep. The funny part was one of my friends had to run up and he didnt even race down
Ski patrol tried to clip my pass because they said I was too drunk.. I was like, first of all this is a bar, and second of all, if I'm passed out naked face down in a tree pit... I consider that a bar.
it took 25 minutes for patrol to meet me at the bottom of mt snow when i cut open my inner lip and blood was pouring out,,,Ive been yelled at for going down a 'closed trail' --- a trail that someone labeled to be closed but never put the ropes up,,, yelled at for going switch but i just flash my instructor pass and tell them im practicing
Two years ago I was getting ready to hike up from the lift to do some backcountry. They were closing the gate in like 20 or 30min so I started hiking. As I am nearing the top I look back down to see a ski patrol hiking very fast behind me. He ended up passing me and closing the gate 5min before I got to the top. what an A$$ hole.
Someone called the ski patrol to come pull a bunch of my friends and i's passes because we took food trays from the day lodge and ran up a run and tobogganed down on them. Another person came less than a minute before the patrol got there and told us they were coming because they overheard the call, so we got away pretty fast. Most of the trays were broken so we just threw them in the woods.
ski patrol in france are awesome, they usually leave you to do your own thing, only ever been told off for having a few too many drinks and getting a bit rowdy which is fair. Really helpful when you need it too.
AT keystone I got a bunch of people to bum rush the park when they closed it down for the day. I got caught and the guy said he was going to take my season pass. jokes on him I only had a day pass. But still, taking someones season pass for ducking a rope??? that's a bit unreasonable.
I've never had problems with ski patrol. I rode a lift with one and he gave me like his whole life story after high school about his experience ski bumming and then becoming a patroller. So I think they're all pretty cool.
Yelled at my friend for dropping his pole after he ate shit hard on one of their shitty jumps he didn't respond because he was winded and gasping for air. They almost pulled his pass but he puked on one of their skis
It showed those fuckers
Can someone make another joke about how they're assholes because they are doing avy control. Really, please do. It keeps getting more and more hilarious; especially when posted by someone with an orange or green name.
