For my Language and Composition class, I have to write an essay agreeing or disagreeing with the theme of George Orwell's essay "Shooting an Elephant."
For those of you who have not read it, the theme is that people often do things in order to not "look a fool" instead of doing things that they want to do.
I am in dire need of examples from literature, the world, or pretty much anything that isn't cliche like "omg i went to a party and there was alcohol so i drank because everyone else did but i didnt actually want to"
