Anyone on the Armada Bubbas?

need to finish off my quiver with a dedicated powder board. I need something thats super quick in the trees and can shut speed down in the blink of an eye. Highly interested in the Armada Bubba, anyone have any first hand experience? Plus K for all who help.

Thanks...Ya i searched all over the internet for reviews and there's just not that many out there. I just snagged a pair, so ill add a review at the end of this season.

anyone know if the bubbas have that same "sandpaper" topsheet material that makes the JJ super durable.

yo dudes....my bubbas here feel the same as the top sheet on JJ....haven't mounted them yet but stoked to hear how they ride

The 2013 JJ has a rough n tumble topsheet, its feels like griptape/sandpaper... Im almost positive the Bubba has a shiny normal armada topsheet, and not the rough sandpaper one. Feel your Budbba topsheet, is it smooth and shiny, or rough and dull...

Would also like to hear how they ride from somebody. I have read everything i could find, and its not much. I thought this ski would be a lot more popular.

Bubba has the glossy topsheet. I skied it in the 178 and was pretty impressed. Preeeeetty playful in the tip and tail but surprisingly stiff underfoot. I didn't ski it on the perfect day - but I'd imagine that when the snow is dreamy deep it would be amazing. However, I think there are skis that are more versatile and will ski similarly when the snow is good. In my opinion its a little wide, and that is mostly because I generally end up riding my powder skis as an everyday ski. If you already have a 115-125mm waisted ski I would give you a thumbs up. If not, I would invest in something with a similar flex and rocker profile, but a narrower waist.

Thanks Rach, thats the most helpful thing anoyone has said both here and on TGR. I appreciate it. For 115-120mm I have a JJ, K2 obsethed, and a Moment Governor/Special. I needed something over 130mm for those ultra deep days here in the Tetons (probably only 10 times/season)...The bubba will never see a day at the resort, except maybe a few sidecountry days. I think i made the right choice, they should be at my doorstep tommorow and im beyond stoked. I was going to go reverse/reverse (moment donner party) but im pretty weary of those designs, the small sweet spots on reverse side cut skis will not make me happy. I just hope the Bubba is almost as quick and pivoty... Thanks again.

Armada JJ, Armada Bubba, On3p Vicik, Moment Bibby Special, Moment Belafonte, Moment PB&J, K2 Obsethed. Im trying to get rid of the belafonte.

you should go to TGR, i have a medium sized quiver over there. I see people with 10-20 skis, and major overlap. When you get older, some men collect watches, some collect cars, some collect stamps. I collect skis, and also, i share the whole quiver with my bro, where only 2mm off on bsl, and most of the bindings can easily change 2mm.

I do have quite a bit of width-overlap tho, but each ski I own has different attributes to negate that overlap. IE: JJ/Obsethed/Bibby Special, each are very very different, there is no TRUE overlap there, only in the dimensions. the only real overlap i have is the vicik and the belafonte, but im trying to get rid of the belafonte.

Never skied the ARG but personally I think the Bubba is a big improvement over the ARG, I like a ski with sidecut.

even in deep untracked? Bubba/ARG would never see hardpack, so i think the lack of sidecut would benefit in my situation.
