So these skis are supposedly Heads top park ski, but they're sold for so cheap compared to other top tier park skis. I don't mean that in a bad way at all, they just seemed really aggressively priced which is super appealing. Can anyone tell me about how the ski performs, flex, durability, sizing, etc?
mega stiff underfoot, super playful nose and tail+ tip/tail rocker. One of the most uneven flexing skis ive ever seen but thats not neccisarily bad. thick edges, great edge hold, look super super stable from videos (check out dumont Hunder on them). Head makes quality shit but know how to make it cheap. Had head skis a few years back and they were very sick. Sidecut is more West coast directed, but definitely good east coast ski. Camber is solid and no doubt will give you lots of pop
Honestly these are the exact characteristics I'm looking for in a ski; super stiff underfoot and a noodle in the tip and tail for presses and butters, and not totally symmetrical. I found I like to be a little bit behind centre, even when skiing switch since you almost always learn toward the nose of your ski. I really enjoyed my Rossi S4's for how they could carve, but hated how I couldn't really get on the tips, and loved how I could flex the domain, but hated how it felt dead when trying to carve. The only other ski I'm considering is atomic punx. I'm gonna keep researching, thanks.
I'm pretty sure these are just the updated model of the Head GP84. They are essentially noodles, I like them for pre-season for popping over rocks and ollie'ing onto little jibs and such.
How would your rate the flex and what other ski would you compare it to? At the moment it sounds similar to the thall in the sense it has a good amount flex in the tips and is very stable underfoot.
Like Freeskibum said, similar to the ace, but I guess i wasnt super clear. THe whole ski is super stiff up to the rocker of the tip and tail which is very soft and playful. They are definitely stiffer than the ace though, Because I was choosing which ski to get last season and I liked the more consistent flex of the Ace.
Decently durable, I mounted mine dead center. I have found Head's warranty to be top notch as well. They have so far replaced 2 pairs of skis for me. I like 80% sure the Caddy is just a new name for the GP84 but I may be wrong. also they are pretty light.
Got to have a look at them at the shop, love them. I see what people mean, the ski is really stiff up until th rocker, then it flexes super easy kinda like lines "butter zones" but even more pronounced. Hopefully I can pick up a pair later this year, thanks guys.
