Ski for Dad

So my dad is in the market for a new ski to compliment his regular groomer ski (K2 charger). We ski in VT (Okemo mostly) and he has the icy days and groomers covered, what he is looking for is something to take out when there is fresh snow or crud, as well as in the slush.

He is about 6' 1" and 170.

His friend has a pair or Nordica Helldorados and loves them, but they are too wide for my dad. Ideally he would get something:
in the 105mm underfoot range
moderate rocker
directional
~180cm long
stiff

What is out there that meets this description? Not at all opposed to a twin but it is not necessary. Looking for more of a charger than a playful ski, the helldorado is appealing because of the metal but like I said just too wide. Thanks in advance, +K to any good suggestions.

My dad skis the Armada TST's. They seem to fit your description, and he loves them.

Check out the line prophet 98. My dad loves them and used them for what you described

If you can find some line influence 105 those would work but is there a budget? You can snag those lines for 370ish.

My fear with the shreditor is that it is too soft, same with the prophet 98. Is the 98 stiff enough to rail turns on east coast hardpack if need be? He skis fast. The turbo isn't a bad call, I can have him look into those. My only gripe with the armadas is that they seem a bit too freestyle oriented, Henrik was riding them last year and there is about 0% similarity between him and my old man.

Sounds like he needs some Bacons. They're my daily driver for everything from PA ice to VT freshies. Your dad and I are pretty similar in height and weight, too. I've got a couple inches and about ten pounds on him and I enjoy the shit out of them. Mine are 184's mounted at dead center if that makes any impact on your decision.

183 tst is the best possible option. He will ski them way more than he would think.

Prophets aren't soft. They have metal in them, which gives back a lot of energy and power on groomers. The front is the only rocketed part of the ski, which makes them even better on groomers but still keeps you up off piste. Definitely stiffer than the skis with more rocker and pow- specific traits.

Get him to take a look at the ON3P Viciks - my dad loves them. Med-stiff and relatively damp but not to the point of being boring or too heavy, carves quite well for a ski that's 105 underfoot, directional and can be skied with a traditional forward stance.
