No Helmet? No Problem!

I think this whole anti-helmet movement is fucking dumb. Who are they to try and make us feel like assholes if we aren't wearing one? At the end of the day, it's a personal choice, so whoever tries to push that shit on you is a tad bit insane. Plus, Stept doesn't wear helmets and they're my role models!!

OK..

I have had two consussions while skiing, both major enough to result in a seizure after impact, while I was not wearing a helmet. I don't regret not wearing a helmet. Both times I can assure you I would have had a consussion whether I had a helmet on or not. Helmets do NOT prevent consussions. I am fine, have no lingering effects, and whether I had a helmet on or not the end result would have been the same.

Watch this pro-helmet video and tell me its still cool/ no big deal to not wear a helmet. Your fucking retarted for arguing that not wearing a helmet is alright. If you don't agree with Robb Gaffney and countless other pros that helmets save lives and should be worn all the time while skiing, then your not a smart skier and you will eventually pay the price. No one wants to see you turn your brain into pulp, so just put one on.

Concussions and other head injuries are additive, meaning that you may be fine after one or two, but eventually, one of those hits to the noggin may turn you into a vegetable. Head trauma stays with you your whole life and only gets worse with more shots to the head, IT WILL NEVER GET BETTER! Its like dropping a hardboiled egg on the ground several times, after the first few drops the egg is still pretty much intact with maybe a few cracks in the shell. After repeated drops though, the egg will lose structural support and eventually turn into egg salad on the ground.

You sir are a fucking idiot. Its called TBI (traumatic brain injury) its a very serious thing. I'm in the military and I got a TBI during a route clearance patrol. Didn't think anything about it just thought it was a typical concussion until the doctor explained what it is. Its not something to fuck with. It happens everytime you get a concussion. Look it up the military and NFL are pouring tons of money into research on TBIs.

I actually had a friend who was in a car crash and not wearing a seatbelt saved his life. He was thrown in the back seat when the car went up a tree and then the whole drivers seat was smashed and impaled by the tree.

Then again, I flipped a Tahoe years ago and wearing a seatbelt is the only reason I'm still here typing. Luck of the draw I guess.
