last year the park crew at my home mountain Loon was all snowboarders and it really made the park snowboarder oriented and was hella annoying... anyone else ever have this problem?
I skied Loon for one day last year and saw several skiers on the park crew, and they threw down. Loon's park is not boarder oriented, its just technical. Free your mind, if a snowboarder can hit it, so can you.
The entire park crew at my mountain is composed of snowboarders. It doesn't really bother me as far as the features they set up, because honestly, they set up stupid-ass features anyways. But it just makes the park crew less relatable for me. But I'm sure there wouldn't be a huge difference in features.
I ride indoors and our park changes every week. All the park team or boards that don't ride that much anymore! Kinda annoys me because they make stupid ass features which skis have no nope in hell of hitting.
This is so true. My friends and I werent sure if it was meant to be decorative or a real feature it was that ridiculous. two feet is in no way an exageration, the thing was like nothing you've ever seen besides from prison bars.
I feel loon was actually slightly more boarder orientated, just because of eastern border everywhere you look and on most features. But it really doesn't matter to me, I like to watch boarders just as much as skiers.
Are you sure it was actually "snowboard oriented" or was it simply above your ability level.
I remember when people used to complain about rails that were setup urban being "snowboard style". How many down rails do you see setup under the take off these days? Not because all the park crews are full of boarders but because it works well and people dig it.
I'm not saying some park crews aren't dominated by snowboarders, just that in most cases they make setups that work for everyone. Also most crews have at least 1 skier on them. I doubt loon runs less than 8 people on their park crew so chances of having a skier or 2 are pretty good.
