wagons are good for gas and gear also they look cool and you can use a skybox for your skis and there is enough space you can sleep in it too that what i have and what i do

worded that kind of weird, other trucks would work too, but im just saying that over a car. but either way tacomas are nice reliable trucks, and a good size for someone who isnt doing a lot towing and whatnot.

Jeeesus you guys get nice first cars... What's insurance like? In the UK it's like £3.5k ($5k) per year when you're 17...

I got a VW polo 1.2 as my first car, it was really good aside from some flaws (such as the whole radio system). 2 weeks after passing I drove it to school, crashed, and left it on it's side on an s-bend.

I now drive a 1.4 Skoda fabia 'sport' from 2005. It drives surprisingly well, that's for hatchbacks in general which means really well for a skoda... (btw the sport version means it has allow wheels, aircon and a spoiler, but doesn't get central locking or a cd player)

Subie or truck? Why not have (kinda) both? Foresters are awesome in snow and not too expensive. The 03-05 model doesn't look too bad, either.

Something old, beat to hell, domestic to your region, running, but probably had minor issues.

-Learn something about fixing car problems (domestic means cheaper parts)
-It's bound to be slow, so you will wind up in less trouble
-It's a hunk of shit, so when you inevitably end up in an accident (your fault or just the nature of a school parking lot) it's not as big of a deal
-When you finally buy your own car you'll appreciate it 1000X more

2002 BMW M5. Good on gas. Pulls on most cars on the road today. Pulls bitches. Can be found for cheap. Has a LSD so its good in snow.

i love mt TJ I have a ski rack on the back spare tire and a roof rack of the hard top, works out great. Obviously cant sleep in but i dont live far from my hill. Jeeps have their own culture to them, ive never met anyone who owns a wrangler( a real one not a 2014 stock wrangler or some yuppie shit like that) that doesnt love their jeep

i have had my subaru for almost 3 years and love it. (its not like a wrx or anything cool) but it gets the job done. the AWD makes a serious difference and you can garuntee that it is dependable

if you can afford it, get an Audi. I've had one and a Subaru, and the Subaru doesn't even come close in the snow. The Audi was my first car and it saved my life a bunch of times just by being technologically AWESOME, but then I was in a bad crash and it literally saved my life. I don't have the ink yet but I know 4 people with Audi rings tattooed on them bc their Audi saved their life, and I plan to do the same.

I had a beast of a Jetta that would climb snowy hills in VT like a boss. But the Subaru is good in the snow too, if you get a wagon you'll have space for all your gear and friends and dogs.

Its an 02 extended cab. It's the inline 4; lacks a bit of power sometimes up in the higher altitudes but I don't think it's possible for it to get stuck. Got it with only 80,000 miles on it too!
