What would be a great tattoo that symbolizes all that skiing is and how it becomes a way of life?

well i have been working on my sleeve for a couple years (because im super poor and can only afford a bit at a time.

on my bicep is a lion carved from a cliff with a skier launching off it. then in th backgrounds is some mountains and 13 (my lucky number) snowflakes wrapping from shoulder to just below my elbow.

then there is a banner with the words "via veritas vita" (the way the truth the life) its a bible phrase.. now I'm not religious but that is what skiing means to me.

below that on the forearm is a compass rose with emphasis on the Northeast (where I started skiing) and a clock with its hands at 8:00 (which is what time the lifts started turning at my home mountain)
at the wrist to end the whole thing is the latin phrase "Tempus Fugit" which means "time flies" because let's be honest, time flies when you're skiing

I cant wait to one day finish it.. but as of now all my cash is going to the ski season.. maybe in the spring :)

he isnt blind. the breaks are pointing towards the tails, not the tips.

and the one ski isnt WAY longer than the other. like less than a half centimeter, it just looks really drastic in that picture

Clouds. hahaha, everyone is was asking that. however, its healing up really nice. The red irritation is gone and they're more turquoise now.

Why would i get a a permanent drawing on my body and have no idea what it was. Of course i know its Pollard's drawing. If it helps, i didn't put the roots on because i thought it would look too messy.

You took way too much time to put together that picture explaining something that everyone understands.

but in all seriousness OP if you have to ask ideas for a tattoo then you probably shouldnt go with the first one that sounds good to you. Its on your body the rest of your life and if you're not completely stoked on the idea beforehand then I wouldnt bother. I've sat on all 4 of my tattoo designs for atleast 6 months debating whether or not I like it enough to get it done. Put thought into it have some ideas you really like then look into shops and find a good professional shop with good artists. A good tattoo artist will sit and work with you when drawing up your design, its necessary to be able to connect with an artist to come up with your own unique piece.

Iv been thinking about what to get for 6 months and don't have many ideas really. I really want it to be personalized former and something I'd want for the rest if my life. One of my ideas was actually like Ashley but a different mountain range with the gps coordinates under it. Or gps coordinates of home. I was thinking about getting wa tattooed but I had a hard time figuring out a way to make that mine. So many people have done that or a variation.

Or gps coordinates of places id lived but that would be a pretty long list. Maybe something to do with living very far north. Iv been thinking for a year or so and have had a bunch of ideas that just were not exactly perfect. I really want it personalized to me.

The snowflake's in my tattoo represents my passion for skiing.
Eventually may turn into a sleeve. I went for a different style of snowflake than most.

I think those getting mountains are a little more on track, and slightly less prone to regret. People need to understand this shit stays with you for ever. Personally, there is no way skiing means anything near enough to warrent a tattoo.

Mountains can mean a whole hell of a lot more that just skiing, there can be a story attached. Not so much with some of these other ones. But to each their own, I guess. Doug wanted a side profile of skis. I talked him out of it. Lol.

Also, lasers exist you know... Not that it's an excuse for a stupid decision, but you still can get something removed if the need arose.
