For those of you who have and use generators in your urban adventures, can you please give me some basic information. Stuff like horsepower, size, what brands etc.

Just depends on what you are trying to power, How many lights and such. What are you looking to do with said generator?

It would be for urban missions. Probably just two flood lights and we gotta keep our toasters plugged in for late night snacks.

how much are you willing to spend?

I powered 2 sets of 2 lights with my 2000 watt genny.

you can find them used on craigslist for a few hundred.

For just a few lights and such look at just getting a converter for the car or truck. Generators are great and all for large projects but you are looking at a ton of extra expense as well as noise. if you really want one and are cool with it check out the Honda Super Quiet Light Weight Inverter 1000W 120v Fuel Efficient Generator. This is the model we use for our small shoots and works great and quiet. Keep in mind if we have the option just use a converter in your car.

I like the idea of a converter more than a full on generator. I didnt think that a car would have the ability to power something like flood lights though.
