Will Salomon equipe 997s be to heavy for park?

I just picked up a pair of these bindings for the low to throw on a secondary pair of skis and the heels seem pretty damn heavy. I know their good burly bindings with a lot of metal but has anyone used these in the park? How will they compare to my current sth16s?

The weight won't really be an issue. Weight when it's near to the pivot point is not really an issue. Have them tested though, they are old so make sure the springs are still up to the job.

Ok thanks man. Do you think my shop will be down to mount them? Also, I know you said the weight won't really be a big deal but u think i'll be able to tell the difference from my sth16s?

They will be way heavier then the sth 16's but you won't notice it ridding. You may have some issues getting them mounted as they are old and will not be on the idemified list but if you know some one who works in a shop you will be ok.

They've also got the same hole pattern as the STH16, so you could get your skis drilled for the STH, and then screw the bindings on yourself.
Then take them in and get them torque tested.
