Is there away to get rid of the "follow us" bar at the bottom?

It's annoying when trying to read threads. I've liked you on facebook, I don't use twitter, google +, or tumblr. Even if I see that forever it isn't going to get me to make other accounts just to follow you.

I feel like that people that like newschoolers are down to like the other option without it being blasted in their face. I like NS years ago on facebook and it wasn't because this site told me to every time I browsed it.

If I used the other sites I'd probably follow on there as well, I just don't.

At least they don't have one of those pop ups that tries to make you like them on facebook, and you have to x out of it just to read the stupid article on the site.

Sorry guys, this is targeted at the Newschooelrs Lurkers. You're supposed to be able to hit X and never see it again.

I use firefox and it wont let me click the little x..It is kinda annoying but ive only seen it pop up recently so i assume you just need to work out the kinks

running safari in 10.8.5 and all buttons are functional including the do not show again however not the "x" button, and it shows up in every window including profiles/messages

firefox on windows 7, "x" does nothing but im assuming since you guys are already aware of it this wont be a problem much longer

x2, now it goes away but the "close this forever" option isn't working for me. It clicks and disappears- but as soon as I return to the forum listing I get it back.

I'd say that's reasonable. I've liked ns on facebook for a while, I don't have tumblr or twitter. It's a pretty binary decision too. Either I'm going to follow ns or not, so you only really need to see it once. So having it pop up until I tell it to go away forever seems like the right call, to me anyway.

Is it still there on mobile? Its not supposed to be loading on mobile, I think we fixed that yesterday. If not, tell me browser/OS/Version and also if you could test it in another browser that would be amazing.

Never meant to be there on mobile.

Fuck, somehow its cached for you. Its not there anymore by default. Can you close it on your mobile?

When I click the "go away forever box" and then close it goes away, then i click on another link, ski gabber for example and it just comes back lol

FYI, this was causing too many issues so we ripped it out for now. Will get better testing going and put back when we can make it not annoying.

Word I should mention that I was able to get rid of it a day or two after making this thread and haven't had a problem since. I don't use mobile though so I wouldn't know if it was still gone for that.

Yeah seemed as though we basically got it dialed for a few places but it was too buggy. We have more important things to be dealing with right now.
