AFTER EFFECTS: Rhythmic Typography help

So i'm doing my first rhythmic typography video for my band, and i've come across an issue. When i apply the sure target camera to the new null object it does not let me move my text anymore. it will let me scale it and rotate on any axis i want, but when it comes to changing the position it will not budge, and the numeric values are all red instead of the normal yellow. any help will be appreciated, thanks guys

I've never used sure target... so I cant help you out really.
But your values are red because they are linked via an expression (probably within suretarget). Try telling it to watch another null and not the text maybe?

It's essentially just another camera, but you can enter your text layers each as a "target" so the camera snaps to each word accordingly, and it also has options for inertia and wiggle that give it that floaty bouncy effect. but thanks for the tip on the red +K to you sir!

So why don't you place a null approx where your text is and and set the null as the target?
If your text layer isn't set as a target you should still be able to animate it.
Sorry if I'm not getting something! haha
