help me get out of a test

i cant find my book/dont wanna take the test. i got my mom to sign this-

'Nick has recently lost his history book and is not prepared for the test today. Please allow him until day 8 (tomorrow) to make up the test. Would it also be possible to let Nick borrow another book until he can find his?'

i have to take it tomorrow if he lets me off, but will that do? and what else can i do to get out of it?
