Techniques for riding park but still holding an edge?
What do people usually do in terms of ski edge when you ski a lot of rails, but still need to be able to hold a solid edge in less than stellar conditions? Should I just sharpen em from time to time?
Detune underfoot, and an inch or two in front of the toe piece and behind the heel piece. Then keep your tips and tails tuned. Skis which you hit rails on, are never gonna lay down trenches on the groomers, but the above should help you cause a little.
tips and tails somewhat tuned, underfoot detuned. if you have good form you can even hold a decent edge if the edges are detuned, unless you run into ice
If you are going to be spending lots of time in the park, but still want to ski the rest of the mountain the best thing you could do would be get a good pair of non-park skis in addition to your park skis.
