Post landing switch in powder

I noticed a problem in my skiing ability and knowledge on after landing switch in powder, to turn back too straight. any suggestions?(powder might also be skied off some so its bumpy) Thanks

You could try to contort your body and turn 180 degress in either direction.

like doing a 180 or five ect of a cliff, I always have trouble spinning around mainly when the powder is chopped up.

stagger your feet and get on edge asap after landing just like if you were carving on hardpack.

First off it's called a revert.

So you want to be staggered pretty well, then choose a side and initiate the turn, leaning back on the uphill ski. At about 70 degrees, I like to give a bit of a popping motion and finish the rest of the revert. The main idea is always keeping your tips up once you start turning.

You could always ride out al but then just do like a switch hockey stop. Then turn back and admire what you just stomped

if you are trying to revert back to regular in pow, just kind initiate a switch butter and kinda lean back on your tails when you come around. just keep your tips up!

OP, follow what GANDALF said and combine that with practicing doing reverts on hardpack and you'll be golden. I have a much harder time actually skiing switch in the powder than I do reverting, choppy or not. It's all about how you balance your weight. Lean into the hill, throw your feet around as if you were on hardpack (except keep your tips up a little more) and keep your weight leaning against the hill. You should come up skiing forwards while leaning a little back on the ski. Pop off the tails, get back to a neutral stance, and ski away like a boss.

Yeah, kinda. I figured you'd be one of the few people on here to know about them. Besides that, I wouldn't actually be using them for AT. I'd get them to switch between 2 pairs of skis but with the price for the system and extra plates it would probably be the same to just pick up another pair of FKS and have them mounted.

To revert, the way you do it will be different depending on the snow.

Pristine blower pow: Switch butter like a gangster, get them face shots!

slightly dense snow: Stagger that stance and gradually edge around.

Untracked PNW cement: pop out of it, and hop 180. If you try to edge, you'll stop dead and eat shit.

Skied out PNW cement: you're fucked. wait to get bucked upside down or stuff the tails and eat shit.

But really if you want to be a boss then don't revert. Just ride out the rest of the line switch like Pollard.
