Been surprised to have not seen more hype surrounding this thing, anyone else real fucking stoked?! This thing looks like its going to be fantastic, the cover is epic and after reading the Q&A I'm pretty confident its gonna be off the chain. Really hyped to see how this thing plays out next year and into the future, I almost look at this as like a test run to see what works and doesn't work, the NS mag holds tons of potential and finally gives the freeskiing media industry something fresh! Freeskier is mad stale after all...

Yep! All die cuts and all good quality.

And for real, the hype train needs to get going harder for this thing! It's actually gonna be fucking rad, and I think once people start to see hard copies of the magazine they're gonna understand what it really means. I can't wait, I'm fucking stoked!

The videos thing is pretty small, as its an experiment - but I think it turned out pretty well all things considered. Next year we can expand on it if people are super into it.

I think this mag has a huge potential for people to look at Newschoolers in an entirely different way.

I'm not sure if everyone will really get it or not, but if they do it could be a game changer.

The fact is that with the curation systems we've put in place, the content that gets skimmed off the top of this place is fucking fantastic. Most people can't see that though with all of it mixed together - they just think of it as an NSG shit-show. We get a lot of that in the industry, that idea that there is nothing good happening, no good members, all kids, etc.

Hard-core NSers understand how to look for the gems in the midst of all the general churn of shit that happens. Very internet minded people understand this too... but everyone else is completely lost by it.

Its like how you'll see a thread/comment list that mathematically has 80% support for an idea, but 5% is hate and 15% is disagreeing with the hate. General consensus of the average person is that thread is just filled with hatemongering.

This mag cuts out that 95% and leaves only the top rated good stuff.

I don't know, maybe I'm being way over-dramatic here and everyone will just kind of 'meh' the whole thing... but maybe not.

I also theorize that there is a lack of hype because in a way people simply don't actually believe this is happening. That... or they don't give a flying rats dick about print anymore.

Either way, in the end we win.

just one thing i dont get and maybe its because im reading the description wrong but

 why is it called a year book?

but i will love to buy this and support the Mag no matter where it goes

Its called The Yearbook because its a tome of all the best content from the site over the last 12 months. Its representative of what happened in our world over the last year, hence the Yearbook is very appropriate.

There is actually also one feature that wasn't on the site, but its written by the guy that did the best as a features journalist over the last year.

Anyway - you get the idea.

We should do an online yearbook where we compose the actual photos of all the members by cam pics. Also have to have people verify the pics though. It's interesting seeing what everyone looks like but nobody puts them in their profile/check profiles enough to see

I think that there is a ton of fun we can start having with this. Taken to a logical extension, we can really start to play around with what we're doing on Newschoolers.

I mean every single action we're doing on the site right now is building next year's book. We can do anything - with enough support from the community literally any idea can get in there.

You actually can also buy it on most newsstands (that carry sports publications) across North America, as an option. It should be pretty solidly available in areas where there's skiing.

I think the statement of 'the majority of kids on this site' is the biggest detrement and waste of time that we keep spreading on Newschoolers. You are the majority of kids, if you like quality journalism then speak up and fuck the rest.

The content in this mag is pretty darn awesome if you ask me. I think a lot of people will be kind of shocked at how it came out. There's really good stuff here on NS.
