SABEK Outerwear--Lowered Prices

NS,

We're new, and somewhat naive. We thought we could come right out with a Jacket similarly priced to our competition. The thing is, apparently without a trusted brand name, it's tough to outsell brands that you (the consumer) already trust.

So, we've decided to make a lot less money so we can earn your trust. We're now selling our Switch Jacket with included hoody sleeves and hood for only $199.

Yea...I know right?

We've also lowered all of our prices for our hoodies, hats, and tees. Being our first year, we really need to get our name out there, and we need your help. We are now charging affordable prices for technical and customizable outerwear. Can we do this forever? Probably not, but we're doing it now.

Here are the specs for the Switch Jacket:

I like the outerwear, it looks good. What I would like is for you to pick a member on here, who is known for quality reviews, send him/her a jacket, for free.

He does a review on here, and then we can talk sales eh?

The way you chose to color block the jackets make them seem very generic. In your "about us" page, you said that you wanted to be separate from the crowd. However, I'm not seeing anything distinctive.

While your product may have great tech specs, a killer design is crucial. I look forward to what you will produce in following years.

You guys have really great specs obviously, and I really like everything about your company so far. You seem to be very interactive and costumer first, which obviously has worked beautifully for companies like Saga. The only thing I would like is some reviews of the durability, but those won't come out until the end of the season. I definitely recommend you have an open contest on NS, kind of like what Joystick just did with their little poles giveaway. This way, members will get a chance to win a jacket/prize pack. Keep doing what you're doing guys!

Also, just know that this year is the year you want the most exposure, not the most profit. You need to get yourself out there as much as you can, and in the years to follow, that's when you'll be getting more money coming in.

Never saw your jackets till now but they look damn dope.

This might sound weird but I'll say it anyway. I wouldn't buy the jackets if i was wearing black pants. I just feel like the combo would look really weird. Like I was wearing a really short jacket or something.

I hate zip off hoods! They never look good when they're down and the zipper always works itself loose on the first few teeth.

zip off sleeves are definitely what im looking for however the zip off hood takes away from the cool factor

I totally agree. Both the overall design and color of the jackets look very generic and not distinctive at all. I do appreciate the zip off sleeves and the hoody sleeves option but the cotton sleeves only look good on the black jacket. All in all, your forward-thinking mindset will help you in the future but your product right now is not what it needs to be. Get your fit really dialed this year and design something fresh and unique for next year.

I like the cotton sleeves, but I really want a taller fit for the jacket, something like 37''.

Thanks for the feedback! The way we feel that you can distinguish yourself from the crowd is through either the hoody sleeves, or the different color sleeves. We sell the different color sleeves for $25 and they change the look of the jacket completely. We'll be coming out with a product video shortly on this feature.

I would say me of course ;) but in reality, go with @Broseidon he is an outdoor rec major and has a lot of experience dealing with different types of outerwear, He is also from Maine where you could see a huge variety of conditions over a period of a couple days. Rain/Snow/Extreme Warm right into Extreme Cold.

He would do a very solid review for you guys.

You should have done your research because there are TONS of jackets that have different colored sleeves, jackets that you can zip the sleeves off and have a hoodie under for sleeves, and jackets that have interchangeable sleeves.

I'd make a video review/edit in various terrain and conditions demonstrating the versatility of the jacket. Am I known for that? Nope not at all. Can you trust me? I mean, if you want to... But seriously I would do that. I'd release it at the end of the season to show any wear and tear. I pinky promise.

@sabek I like the look of the outerwear and it appears to be quality construction. One Thing I would really like to see is a neoprene material for the hoodie sleeves and hood instead of cotton.

Thanks, and yes we are aware that there are many different types of jackets. There are also jackets with reversible sleeves. We've done our research. We want to compete with those companies. We will also be providing zip-on flannel, soft-shell, insulated, and down sleeves in the future.

The feedback is appreciated, and these are just the beginnings of how we feel you can "set yourself apart from the crowd." We hope to create more ways to do that.
